Woman’s body found in waters off Fort Totten in Queens, knife in bloody car nearby

A woman’s body was found in the waters off Fort Totten in Queens on Sunday, and investigators are looking into whether a knife in a bloody car found nearby is linked to the victim’s death, cop sources said.

A 911 caller spotted the body about 11:15 a.m. Police are working to determine the woman’s identity.

Cops found a car in a nearby parking lot with blood on the driver’s seat and a knife on the passenger’s seat, police sources said.

An NYPD harbor unit brought the body ashore, and the city medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

Marathon proceedings in Luigi Mangione’s state homicide case came to a close Thursday, as Manhattan prosecutors and lawyers for the suspected killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson rested without calling any more witnesses. Experts say it’s complicated, with mixed evidence about how lowering the voting age affects democracy and election outcomes.
